Things Not seen By Andrew Clements entry # 2

    This is my second entry on Things Not Seen.  I have gotten much father and I am almost done.  From last time I read to now bobby sneaks out of this house and meet a girl, who is blind.  The don't really talk because he has to go home.  He goes home to find that his dad is sitting there worried sick about him because he didn't know where he was.  When he gets home his dad yells at him and tells him to go to his room.  The dad has to go pick up his mom at her work.  When he leaves Bobby is still mad at him. 

    A little while later he hears the doorbell and phone ring, decides to go with the door.  When he answers it he sees the cops.  The cops then tell him that his parents had been in a car accident and are now in the hospital.  Bobby is very upset and doesn't know what to do.  When he is done with the cops the phone rings again so he answers it and it is the doctor from the hospital.  She said that his parents are going to be fine.  She wants him to find a babysitting for the next few days because hes only 15 years old.  He goes to see his mom and dad but he has to wear so much stuff so that his body is covered so they can see him. 

      Next he goes to the library and sees the girl again.  Her name is Alice and they start talking.  They hang out a lot and become really good friends.  He tells her that he is invisible and that he is naked. (which is a little creepy)  He meets her parents and Alice's mom stays with them the whole time.  

      Then at Bobby's house, his mom and dad are home now. The doorbell rings and its Mrs.Pagett who is the State Department of children and family services.  The school was worried that Bobby was really sick because he has been out with "the flu".  They wanted to know where he was. Bobby's mom said that he went to Florida to visit some relatives.  They didn't believe her so they have to get a search warrant.  

     So thats what I read so far.  In a few days I be back with more on Things Not Seen by Andrew Clements.

Things Not Seen

In Class I am reading Things Not Seen by Andrew Clements.  I just Starter reading it so I am on page 30.  So far it is really good.  Its about a boy who wakes up one morning and he doesn't see himself in the mirror when he gets out of the shower.  He goes and tells his very smart parents thinking that they might know what to do.  At first they think that he was joking but they come to realize that he wasn't and he really is invisible.  As you can image the parents are freaking out because they don't know what to do.  They start to brainstorm.  They end up stopping because they have to go to work.  That's all I read so far but I look forward to reading this book.

The Outsiders

i just finished the book The Outsiders. I think it was a really interesting book. It was also really sad. It was about a town where there are two different "gangs" . One gangs name is the Socs and they are the gang that is what the town wants. They are very preppy and don't steal. They are from the rick west side of town. The other gangs name is the Greasers.  They are called that because they put grease in their hair and comb it back. They steal stuff from places. They are the east side gang. For the Greasers walking home alone is very unsafe to do because the Socs could come by and beat you up. Ponyboy is the main character, he was two older brothers.  His parents died in a car crash so his older brother takes care of them. He is 22 years old and acts like the lead of the family.

One day Ponyboy was walking home from the movies by himself. He noticed a red corvair following behind him. All he was thinking about was how badly they beat up Johny. They got out of the car and started to beat up Ponyboy. He was screaming for help and them finally his brothers and the rest of the gang showed up and chased the Socs away.  

Ponyboy, Two-bit, Johny, and Dally go to a drive-thru movie and see these two upper class girls. They end up walking them home. On the way home two Socs pull up behind them and it ends up being Cherry and Marica's Socs boyfriends.  They almost get into a fight but the girls decide to go home with the boyfriends instead so they don't get into a fight.  When Ponybiy gets home Darry is extremely mad that he was so late and Darry hits Ponyboy. Ponyboy gets really mad at this and storms out of the house. Ponyboy goes to Johny's house and ask him if he wants o run away with him because he lives with a really bad dad. Johny says yes right away but they end up walking to the park to figure out if they really want to go thought with it. While they were walking through the park they see the Socs. They were trying to kill Ponyboy so Johny ends up killing bob (the socs).

They walk up to a church and sleep there for the night.  When Ponyboy wakes up he finds a note that Johny left him that saud that he went to town to get some supplies for them. They stay there for a week. 5 days later Dally comes to the church and gives Ponyboy a letter from his brother sodapop. Also he mentions that Cheer feels responsible for the murder she is acting as a spy for the Greasers. He also tells them about the rumble. The rumble is where the two groups fight and see who is the better group.  Johny and Ponyboy leave the church so they can get some supplies, but when they come back the church is on fire and there are kids playing inside. Ponyboy and Johny go in and save them but in the meantime johny get hit in the back witha big piece of timber. They have to take him to the hospital, he ends up having really bad burns and can't feel his waist and lower.

They have the rumble and they win. Ponyboy, Two-bit, and Dally go back to the hosital after the rumble to see Johny and a little while after he dies. :(  After that Dally is so upset that he runs out of the room. when Ponyboy gets home he see the Greasers in his living room, soon after they get a phone call from Dally saying that he has just robbed a grocery store and is running from the police. They all step outside and see him. He pulls out a loaded gun and the cops shoot him. dead. :(

Ponyboy gets so upset that he passes out when he wakes up he finds out that he has a concussion from the rumble because someone kicked him in the head. he is on bed rest for 3 days.
